Method of use for hydrocarbon analyzer for liquid petroleum products
I. Instrument Preparation
Installation Requirements
The rear side of the instrument should be ≥200mm away from the wall, and the power supply must be properly grounded.
Connect the gas tube between the adsorption column and the external gas source, then close the pressure regulating valve.
Adsorption Column Filling
Place the fixing clip below the loading section, hang the adsorption column, and vibrate to fill it with silica gel.
When the separation section is half-filled, add 3–5mm fluorescent indicator silica gel.
After filling, vibrate for 4 minutes to eliminate static electricity.
II. Sample Testing Steps
Sample Injection
Use a syringe to inject 0.75mL of the sample into the silica gel surface of the loading section, 30mm below the top.
Pressure Separation
First maintain 14kPa pressure for 2.5 minutes, then adjust to 34kPa for another 2.5 minutes.
Finally adjust the pressure to achieve a separation time of approximately 1 hour (28–69kPa for gasoline, 69–103kPa for jet fuel).
Fluorescence Observation
Turn on the UV lamp to illuminate and mark the hydrocarbon interfaces:
Saturated hydrocarbons (no fluorescence);
Olefins (blue fluorescence);
Aromatics (red ring).
III. Data Recording and Processing
Measure the length of hydrocarbon color bands in the adsorption column and calculate the volume percentage.
Note that the aromatic interface may be blurred due to impurities, so judge based on fluorescence characteristics.
IV. Precautions
Safety Protection: Avoid direct exposure to UV light; wear protective equipment during operation.
Silica Gel Maintenance: Regularly replace the filling silica gel to ensure separation effectiveness.
Standard Updates: The new national standard (GB/T 11132-2022) refines operational procedures; it is recommended for reference.
SD11132 Liquid petroleum products hydrocarbon meter is in accordance with the law of the People's Republic of China standard GB/T 11132-2002 "hydrocarbon liquid petroleum products determination method (fluorescent indicator adsorption method)" the requirements stipulated in the design and manufacture, apply to approach, as stipulated in the standard GB/T 11132 main hydrocarbon in liquid petroleum products with fluorescent indicator displayed on the silica gel adsorption column, calculate the volume percentage, as the quality of the fuel oil such as engine fuel, aviation fuel measuring indicators.
