The SD‑6536C Petroleum Products Distillation & Boiling Range Tester is developed and manufactured complying with Chinese standards GB/T 6536 Petroleum Products — Determination of Distillation Characteristics and GB/T 7534‑2004 Industrial Volatile Organic Liquids — Determination of Boiling Range.
The distillation range denotes the temperature interval between the initial boiling point and final boiling point. It reflects the evaporative properties of petroleum products when distilled under specified test conditions.
Definitions of boiling‑range terms: The initial distillation temperature is the temperature at which the first drop of condensate drips from the condenser tube during distillation. The final distillation temperature refers to the temperature measured near the end‑point of distillation. The temperature span between these two values constitutes the boiling range.
This instrument is applicable for distillation testing of gasoline, aviation gasoline, jet fuel, special‑boiling‑point solvents, naphtha, diesel fuel, distillate fuels and other similar petroleum products. It can also measure the boiling range of chemical substances including methanol.
