ST-F13 Dust Angle of Repose Tester for Angle of Repose Measurement via Restricted Base Injection Method
Definition of Angle of Repose
The angle of repose is defined as the acute angle formed between the slope surface of accumulated dust and the horizontal base plane.
The ST-F13 dust/powder angle of repose tester is developed and manufactured in compliance with GB/T 16913-2008 Test Methods for Physical Properties of Dust — Part 5: Determination of Angle of Repose by Restricted Base Injection Method. This national standard references ISO 4324:1997 Powders and Granular Surfactants — Determination of Angle of Repose.
This instrument is specially designed for dust samples and adopts the restricted base injection method to test dust’s angle of repose. Its key technical distinction from ISO 4324:1997 lies in its direct angle measurement: instead of calculating the angle by measuring the height of piled powder on the restricted base, this tester reads the dust angle of repose directly via a built-in protractor.
Working Principle
A sufficient quantity of dust flows through the funnel onto a horizontal receiving plate until excess material overflows into the overflow tray. The acute angle between the sloped surface of the dust pile and the horizontal base plane is then measured as the dust’s angle of repose.
