  The SH102D Fully Automatic Thermostatic Petroleum Density Meter is applicable for determining the density and relative density of liquids. It works on the principle that a dual U-shaped tube exhibits distinct vibration frequencies when filled with different media. The meter complies with the standards of GB/T2013-2010, GB/T29617-2013 and ASTM D 4052. After the liquid sample is pumped into the resonant cylinder sensor, a single-chip microcomputer processes the measurement data, ensuring rapid, direct and highly sensitive results. The device consists of a dual tuning fork density sensor, an oscillation cylinder circuit, a temperature measurement circuit, a CPU, a display unit, a thermostatic bath, a liquid inlet pump and a control panel. It is widely used for density measurement of various liquids. Equipped with dedicated concentration conversion software, it can directly read the concentration values of specific liquids, such as alcohol. With single-chip software processing, it can display volume concentration data directly, making testing operations more convenient.
 
  This U-tube oscillation densitometer conforms to the international standard ISO 12185:1996 Determination of Density of Crude Oil and Petroleum Products - U-shaped Vibrating Tube Method, as well as the industry standard SH/T0604-2000 Determination of Liquid Density and Relative Density (Digital Densimeter Method).
 

Working Principle of U-Tube Oscillation Densitometer for Liquid Density Measurement

 
The oscillation tube method measures substance density by using an electromagnetically driven U-shaped glass tube to generate oscillations. The vibration frequency of the tube is correlated with the density of the filled substance. The actual density of the measured sample is calculated by analyzing the frequency difference between the sample and a reference standard substance. This oscillation tube method ensures high measurement accuracy.
 

Performance Features

 
  1. Thermostatic Control: Liquid density is highly temperature-dependent, so it is necessary to convert the density measured at real-time temperature to the standard density at 20°C. This instrument adopts thermostatic bath control, enclosing the sensor, its components and the sample liquid in a thermostatic chamber. A temperature sensor monitors the temperature of the oscillation tube and sample liquid. The single-chip microcomputer controls electronic components to cool or heat the chamber, maintaining the temperature within 20°C ± 0.1°C. This eliminates the hassle and errors caused by manual temperature conversion, and ensures the instrument's measurement accuracy, stability and repeatability (the constant temperature can be customized according to user requirements).

Direct Display of Density at 20°C with Temperature Readout: The single-chip microcomputer detects the sensor's oscillation frequency, applies a mathematical model of the relationship between sensor frequency and liquid density to calculate the density value, and performs floating-point operations to avoid errors caused by insufficient calculation digits. The calculated density value is displayed as a 5-digit number, with a dedicated temperature display window.

  5. Automatic Sampling: A single-chip microcomputer controls a stepper motor to drive a peristaltic pump for sample aspiration, enhancing the product's automation level.

  7. Acid and Alkali Resistant Tubing: All tubing in direct contact with the liquid is made of imported acid and alkali resistant materials, enabling the instrument to measure acidic and alkaline solutions.

  9. Data Storage and Transmission: Built-in memory can store 80 sets of test data, which can be retrieved and deleted as needed. The instrument can be connected to a computer via RS232 interface (customizable per user requirements).
 

Calibration Function

 
Long-term inactivity may cause instrument drift. This device can be calibrated using pure water at 20°C as the standard reference, a function unavailable with traditional glass densitometers.
