Experimental Purpose

 

In the fields of petrochemical production, product quality inspection, and scientific research, determining the kinematic viscosity of petroleum products clarifies their fluid characteristics. This provides critical data support for qualified product quality judgment, optimization of application scenarios, and improvement of storage and transportation conditions.

Precautions

 

The instrument shall be placed on a flat and stable laboratory bench with a power supply meeting equipment requirements. During operation, ensure standardized sample addition to avoid spillage and instrument contamination. Do not touch the capillary viscometer or constant temperature bath area at will during instrument operation to prevent scalding or affecting test accuracy. Selection of viscometer tubes: Based on experience, first identify the type of oil sample to be tested, determine its viscosity range, and then select the corresponding viscometer tube according to this range.

 

Operational Procedures

 

1. Check the completeness of the instrument and fasteners, confirm that accessories such as special viscometer tubes and syringes are complete, connect the power supply, and ensure good grounding.

2. Calibration preparation: Inspect the Pt100 platinum resistance temperature sensor and capillary viscometer to ensure accurate temperature detection and viscosity measurement data.

3. Sample preparation: Prepare samples in accordance with GB/T265 and ASTM D445 standards, and inject the samples into the capillary viscometer using a syringe.

4. Device installation: Fix the capillary viscometer containing the sample on the 304 stainless steel fixture, ensuring complete immersion in the constant temperature bath.

5. Parameter setting: Set the temperature control range (room temperature +5℃~100.0℃) and related parameters through the large-size color touch screen, and start the instrument.

6. Test operation: The instrument automatically completes constant temperature control, timing, and viscosity calculation. During the test, the sample status can be observed through the LED soft light, and the instrument will automatically alarm upon completion.

7. Result determination: The instrument automatically prints test data, which can also be exported to U disk in CSV or Excel format. Record the kinematic viscosity value and related test parameters.

 

Data Analysis and Result Evaluation (Experimental Results)

 

Relying on the instrument's imported core components, Pt100 platinum resistance sensor, and double-layer constant temperature bath (heating rate >5℃/min), the results of multiple tests on the same standard sample meet the accuracy requirements of GB/T265 and ASTM D445 for test instruments, with qualified data repeatability.
