Copper Strip Corrosion Test Method for Petroleum Products
Petroleum products (including aviation gasoline, lubricating oil, etc.) are important energy sources and raw materials in industrial production and daily life. Their corrosiveness to metals directly affects equipment service life and operational safety, and the degree of copper strip corrosion is one of the key indicators for evaluating product quality.
Test Purpose
In the fields of petrochemical production, product quality inspection and scientific research, by determining the degree of corrosion of petroleum products on copper strips, the corrosion characteristics of the products are clarified, providing key data support for product qualification determination, optimization of storage and transportation conditions, and prevention and control of operational risks.

Test Samples
Petroleum products such as aviation gasoline, aviation turbine fuel, motor gasoline, and lubricating oil
Precautions
The instrument shall be placed on a flat and stable test bench, and the power supply shall be well grounded (AC220V±10% 50Hz); open flames are prohibited around during operation, and test bombs containing high vapor pressure samples shall not be placed in a 100℃ bath; the bathtub must be filled with water, oil or mixed liquid before power is turned on, and dry heating without liquid is strictly prohibited.
Operation Steps
1. Check the completeness of the instrument and fasteners, connect the connectors properly, ensure the shell is well grounded, and add the specified bath liquid to the bathtub.
2. Calibration preparation: Inspect the Pt100 temperature sensor and related instruments to ensure accurate temperature detection data.
3. Sample preparation: Prepare samples in accordance with the requirements of GB/T5096 standard, pretreat the copper strip test pieces, and place them together with the samples into test tubes or test bombs and seal them.
4. Device installation: Fix the test tubes or test bombs containing samples and copper strips on the corresponding brackets to ensure they are completely immersed in the constant temperature bath.
5. Parameter setting: Set the temperature control range (room temperature ~ 200℃) and timing parameters (0.01 seconds ~ 99 hours and 99 minutes) through the instrument buttons, start the heating and stirring devices, and maintain a temperature control accuracy of ±0.1℃.
6. Test operation: Start timing after the temperature stabilizes, the instrument will automatically alarm at the end of the test, and take out the copper strip immediately.
7. Result determination: Through color comparison with a color chart or visual observation, judge whether the copper strip has green or black changes, evaluate the corrosion grade and record the test data.
The SD5096 Copper Strip Corrosion Tester complies with GB/T5096 "Copper Strip Corrosion Test Method for Petroleum Products"
